About Bob Kendall

For as long as I can remember, I have had the natural ability to make art.  Being the youngest in a family of 5 kids, I felt like the way to get attention from my siblings was to draw, paint, sculpt, make music, etc. As far as creations go, I left no stone that I knew of, unturned and I still don’t.

I find enjoyment in creating and inspiration throughout the journey of each of my pieces.  While some feel stress to finish a piece, I find that I work best under pressure and that is, often, what I need to feel inspired.  My best work is done with a time restraint and, many times, I am surprised at what comes from the end of my pencil.

All of my work represents a part of me, of who or what I am at that particular time.  Sometimes my work is very literal, while other times, it is wildly imaginative.  To me, art gives me freedom that I don’t find in everyday life.  I am never bound by one form, one medium or one subject.  I get to make the rules.

I watch my art come alive as if it has a life of it’s own.  I often have no idea what will evolve onto the paper.  Even when I am hiding tiny objects in a piece-drawing under a magnifying glass, I can still carry on a conversation about something entirely different.  An idea can take me in so many different directions depending on the day.

Everything I do revolves around art in some form. Whether it’s drawing cartoons for my grandkids, playing the guitar in my band or creating something to hang on my wall or to sell, it feels like it is my purpose.  It is my means of expressing myself, my sense of self worth and my contribution to the world.  My art is my life.

I would like to send out a special thanks to some people that have helped me along the way.

Mom and Dad, you have helped me more than I could have ever hoped for. Your patience and tolerance is second to none. You deserve more than just a thank you.

Vicki, Annie, Jeff, Erik, Brandon @ liveRC, Cory, and so many more.
